DHEDF is pleased to announce that Dr. Bernard A. Harris, Jr., NASA Astronaut and Veteran of two space shuttle missions( STS-55 and STS-63) On February 9, 1995, Dr. Harris became the first African American to perform an extra-vehicular activity (spacewalk), during the second of his two Space Shuttle flights. has been added to the DHEDF website page Honoring African Americans in Aviation and Aerospace at https://dhedf.org/education/honoring/category/african-americans-in-aviation-and-aerospace
