For further details see https://gama.aero/opportunities-in-ga/aviation-challenge/

Greetings former and interested Aviation Design Challenge participants,

Registration for the 2025 GAMA Aviation Design Challenge is currently open. We are proud to continue to offer this exciting, free program that teaches students about the dynamics of flight, the mechanics of creating aircraft and the opportunities available in the general aviation industry.

We welcome your school/team to participate in this year’s Challenge, which is open to the first 150 schools that register. Registered schools will receive “Fly to Learn” curriculum, which is aligned with national STEM standards, to facilitate the learning of flight and airplane design principles. Teachers can guide their students through the curricula in approximately four to six weeks. Teams then apply what they learned to virtually modify the design of an aircraft and complete a flight mission using X-Plane 12 software.

Completed challenge submissions will be scored by GAMA judges based on the mission and other performance/submission parameters. The winning team will receive an all-expenses-paid general aviation experience, which includes a CubCrafters Manufacturing Experience. The second-place team will receive a Redbird Flight Simulations STEM Lab, and the third-place team will receive a one-year subscription to ForeFlight.

To register and to learn more about the challenge, please visit the GAMA Aviation Design Challenge webpage. Registration closes on December 20, 2024, or once all available slots are filled.

Note: For 2025, we will be using X-Plane 12. A demo to test compatibility can be downloaded at x-plane.com/desktop/try-it/.

We hope to see your team represented in this year’s Aviation Design Challenge! Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

-The Aviation Design Challenge Team
