Dedication ceremony at SETA Magnet School
Do you know the story of Dee Howard?
D.U. “Dee” Howard was a San Antonio aviation entrepreneur. His companies have left a lasting impact on our city and the world of aviation. He’s in the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame thanks to his efforts and creation of the advanced technology thrust reversers that helped slow private planes after landing in the 1970s and 1980s.
His pioneering spirit will fuel the engineers of tomorrow at North East ISD’s Space and Engineering Technologies Academy (SETA).
The Dee Howard International Education Foundation recently donated some of Mr. Howard’s memorabilia to our SETA middle school at Krueger Middle School. Some of that memorabilia is lining the walls of in the newly-named Dee Howard Way hallway at SETA.
Dee Howard’s daughter, Dee Ann Bridges and Chair of the Dee Howard International Education Foundation, Wayne Fagan, attended the official opening ceremony of Dee Howard Way to celebrate with the students.
“Have your dreams,” said Fagan. “This school, SETA and North East ISD are empowering you with the resources and with the knowledge to have those dreams and to help you implement those dreams.”
