This workshop will model the strategies to teach chemistry like teaching reading. We will be playing games, doing activities, solving puzzles, and reading chemistry comic books as tools to navigate this strategy for teaching chemistry. Participants will come away with an understanding of the parallels between learning to read and learning chemistry. They will also have the tools and strategies to implement this in their classrooms or share with peers.

Join us for a conversation focused on the real-life transition from a rural or small-town community to a campus like Massachusetts Institute of Technology. We’ll talk about what it’s like to relocate, navigate homesickness, adapt to a faster pace, and find your people in a new environment.
